CG Magazine now an official SFWA qualifying market!Mar 18th, 2014 | By Bart Leib | Category: CG Blog
With the announcement on their blog, it’s now official:
Those of you who’ve known us since the beginning might be aware that, when we launched CG Magazine – the first time round – in December 2008, we said even then that we had a goal to build the zine up to SFWA qualifying status someday. When we were forced to shut down the magazine after 36 issues of the first run, we were dismayed it would never happen. Which probably explains our unbelievable excitement when our 2012 Kickstarter did well enough for us to re-launch, finally paying at SFWA level for fiction. Now a little more than a year after issue 1 of Crossed Genres Magazine 2.0 came out, it’s official!
Thank you so much to everyone who’s supported us – the Kickstarter backers, the authors who’ve submitted so many thousands of stories, the established SFF folk who cut us a break and took us seriously when we were finding our feet… and especially all our wonderful readers.
Also, a big congratulations to Head of Zeus for reaching SFWA status at the same time! =)
(And, P.S. – We’re taking flash fiction submissions until the end of March! 😉
