Dealing With Disappointment

*sigh*

Even editors get rejection notices in their inboxes from time to time.  Well, often, actually.  I do, anyway.

See, the ‘trouble’ is my taste in art. I can spot a pro with just one glance at a thumbnail image on their DeviantArt gallery page.  Well, that’s what it seems like.  And lately I have developed a real knack for picking out artists who are AMAZING and yet very busy working on…animated movies.  It must be coincidence, but seriously, in the past three weeks I’ve been rejected by at least three artists who exist within the Venn Diagram titled “Pro+Amazing+Working On Feature Length Animation.”

Nobody should feel offended on my behalf, they’ve all been very gracious and professional in their rejections. 🙂

Of course, I don’t see the rejections as reasons to compromise on quality.  Rather, I see it as an opportunity.  An opportunity to discover and work with another up-and-coming artist in a mutually beneficial way.  An opportunity to make new friends in the arts.  An opportunity to spend hours more on Deviant Art poring through galleries, WOO!
