Gauging interest in CG Magazine print subscriptionMar 24th, 2011 | By Bart Leib | Category: CG Blog
Since we first founded Crossed Genres we’ve wanted to offer a print subscription. But it was never possible: the cost of shipping 12 issues every year was prohibitive. We’d have had to charge far too much or lose money.
However, since we switched to the quarterly format for our print editions, things are a bit different. And after crunching some numbers we’ve found that, if there’s enough initial interest, we may finally be able to offer print subscriptions!
We would need a fair number of people to sign up at the beginning, so we’d like to hear if this is something you’d jump on:
1 year of Crossed Genres Magazine: 4 quarterly print editions, mailed to you. Each quarterly contains all the online content, plus exclusive content only available in the quarterly print & ebook releases. You would get a full year of CGM, and then some.
We’re looking at a price point around $30, shipping included. This is US-only – unfortunately we’ve yet to figure out a way to do international shipping for a reasonable price. We’ll keep working on international options!
UPDATE 10:30am, 3/25/11: There’s been some decent interest so far – we’d still like to hear from you! There’s also been some interest expressed in an ebook subscription, so let us know what you think of:
1 Year of Crossed Genres Magazine: 4 quarterly ebook editions. The exact same material as the print editions described above, but as ebooks. Each issue would come in 7 different ebook formats (EPUB, LIT, LRF, MOBI, PDB, PDF and PRC) covering pretty much every ebook reader, tablet, mobile, and computer. Each quarter we would email you a Dropbox link that would let you download the new Quarterly. This would be at a price point of about $10 for the whole year.
Obviously the ebook subscription would be a good alternative for international readers. Interested? Let us know!
