Half my life’s in books’ written pages

A few things:

Bethofalltrades lost her kitten Joy after a long struggle. She’s going to have a webcast/auction/telethon tomorrow night at 6pm EST to raise money to pay off the more than $1000 of veterinary bills. If you can help her out, please do.

Today I emailed some of the people who’s stories we decided to accept for Issue 11. Not all – I meant to but didn’t get a chance. I’ll send the last couple tomorrow.

Speaking of which: Ever wonder why we put ourselves through all the hard work, long hours and loss of money it takes to publish Crossed genres? THIS is why.

The second proof of Issue 10 finally arrived. It’s exactly the same as the first except with the little mistake on the front corrected. No biggie, just thought I’d mention it.

Tomorrow Kay and I are beginning the time-consuming task of editing the content for Issue 11. It’s probably about the only things we’ll be doing for the next couple of days, as we’re trying to get the issue wrapped faster than usual, so we’ll have extra time to work on the oversized Issue 12.

Speaking of Issue 12: where have all the submitters gone? Our number of submissions this month is, thus far, disappointing. We knew that a number of people who might normally submit to us might shy away from the LGBTQ theme (which is silly!), but we didn’t expect such a slow start. Hopefully you’re all working hard to polish your submissions… right? Remember that we want this to be an oversized issue, maybe even twice the size of a regular issue. But we’re not going to accept extra stories because they’re there – we need quality stuff. That means you, right?

And if you would, please spread the word about the issue!
