I’m not awake enough for this

And by “this”, I mean trying to figure out how to make .mobi documents. I can make basic ones, but the formatting is a real pain, and the system for adding jump-to points (which the program says is “simple”) is not intuitive, and has exactly zero actual explanation of how to use it. I spent about an hour and a half surfing forums looking for a basic “how-to”, but came up empty. Anyone know either a simple program for creating .mobis, or where I can find a step-by-step for using Mobipocket Creator?

Today I emailed all the authors to check in and finalize the edits to the stories. I’ve received their contracts, so I’ll be sending back signed copies, along with payments, in the next couple of days.

I also spent some time today rearranging the ads on the site. We want to have them not be too obtrusive, but still be appealing to potential advertisers. I think we’ve settled it, pretty much. It’s been interesting to see who’ll advertise on a SF/F magazine website. I also transferred a bit of re-allocated budget to our PW account; as soon as we’ve made a couple of ads we’ll probably be doing our first-ever paid advertising! (although we’re talking pennies at a time, but still)

BTW we’re still cleaning up some stuff that’s wrong with the new site. I’m still stumbling onto the occasional broken link to an old page, and I haven’t had time to transfer the content from the first couple of issues yet (Hopefully I’ll get to that this week). If you notice any links that don’t work, please let us know!

…and sign up for a free account on the website! (OK, maybe it’s time I stopped doing these…)
