Jack of all trades…

My “worked on” list today includes everything but the kitchen sink. The metaphor is accurate so long as “the kitchen sink” means “the thing I actually said I’d work on”.

Didn’t get to the Kindle edition, although that’s not a problem; unlike the Print Edition, the rest of the various versions of each issue don’t have to be finished as early in the month.

So what did I do? Let’s see:

Communicated with an artist about a contract and payment
Got the OK to order the proof copy of Issue 7, and did so (Yay!)
Had a conversation with K about a contest; we’ve pretty much decided to go ahead with it; more on that when we’ve got the details polished
Took on the OTHER side of Project Wonderful

Anyone who’s visited our website over the last week has seen that we’ve begun displaying ads from Project Wonderful. We’ve been pretty pleased with the results so far; not exactly a lot of money, but the majority of the ads have actually been relevant to CG in some way. We were worried that we’d get a bunch of crazy stuff, and while there have been a couple head-scratchers, mostly it’s been on the ball.

Today I got us started on posting our own advertisements on other sites! I created some ad images, uploaded them, and placed a few bids. As of about 25 minutes ago, we had our first successful bid, and our ad is up on another site! It’s a big deal for us since this is the first paid advertising we’ve done; we couldn’t afford it before (and in fact, we had to reallocate some $ from elsewhere to afford this). Here’s hoping it’ll actually result in some increased traffic to the site. We’ve also got a couple more bids that aren’t “active” yet – IOW, they’re set to first offer that $ starting at a specific time in the near future. We’ll see how those go.

Busy day tomorrow. Sleep now. At 12:44 am, coherent I ain’t.
