Open up the throttle and stir a little dust

As I mentioned in a post earlier, Issue 9’s cover art was featured in a post on BoingBoing. It drove a lot of traffic to the site, which was a nice surprise – we didn’t know about the post until it’d been up for about 4 hours. There were some interesting comments in response, some of which I agree with and some I don’t, but hey – we’re glad to see some of our content stirring up talk. Since that’s kind of the point…

Issue 10 is as done as we can make it at this point. We’re still waiting on the proof copy of the print edition, but can’t finalize that until it arrives. Other than that we’re really pretty much set. There’s a couple other fiddly things that will be done in the last day or two, like officially publishing the Kindle edition for example.

So for the next week or so we’ll be getting as ahead on Issue 11 as possible: reading all remaining unread submissions, and then reading new ones as they come in; fixing up some templates; prepping pages on the website. There are a few other things we’ll be getting to as well – for example, I really need to email some people who have submitted novellas. I’m staying home with our son tomorrow, but I may still have time to do that. But maybe not. Who knows?
