Why wait any longer for the world to begin

Nov 17th, 2009 | By | Category: CG Blog

Sorry for the lack of posts. I can say in all honesty that it’s because I have been busting my ass on CG.

Yesterday I finalized the print, pdf, Kindle and prc editions of Issue 13. Who’s awesome? That’s right.

Actually we have to wait for the proof of the print edition to arrive before we can give final approval. But yesterday I did take the print ed. from submitted to approved to proof ordered to proof shipped in 7 hours and 23 minutes. This has happened for several issues in a row; I’m still wary of allowing myself to expect it, because as soon as I do it won’t happen. Still, it’s nice to see such a fast turnaround.

We got the final of the issue 14 cover in a couple days ago! It’s very cool, and very different from any of our previous covers. I’m really happy with it.

Slush reading is still chugging along. Folklore submissions are on pace to just about match our best month (not counting the LGBTQ issue). Interestingly, the submissions are really spaced out, too: over the first 16 days of the month, only 3 days did we not receive at least 1 submission (and for all 3 of those days, there was a submission after 10pm the night before…) Yay! Let’s keep that rolling!

We also passed a new milestone: Yesterday we hit 30,000 pageviews this month (yes, in 16 days). Wow!

We are still well behind the number of preorders necessary to publish our first anthology. Please help us reach our goal by preordering! It’s a great deal: a discounted copy, a free one-year online subscription, and be entered for the chance to win a free copy of the anthology for your local library! For $9! Offer is good through the end of November.

One final thing: Remember that Issue 1 is going away at the end of this month! Please take this final opportunity to read our inaugural issue, and maybe pick up one of the last remaining copies of the limited print edition.
