Crossed Genres is looking for a completed novel (40,000-100,000 words) to publish in serial form exclusively in our “Subscribers” area. After the entire story has been published online, Crossed Genres will publish the complete novel in book form.

What to include in your submission:

To submit your novel, please use the submissions form. Write the title of your novel and your name in the Subject line. Submission attachments must be .doc, .docx or .rtf. Use Standard Manuscript Format.

NOTE: Crossed Genres does NOT accept Multiple or Simultaneous submissions for Serials.

What are we looking for?

The story must be Science Fiction and/or Fantasy; blending of other genres is fine, but not required.

Beyond that, there is no hard-and-fast rule; any story that follows the above guidelines will be considered.
Since the story will be published serially, it needs to be compelling throughout, preferably with multiple
“high” points. We tend to favor character-driven stories, but that doesn’t mean we won’t appreciate a
strong action piece. Make your characters fascinating and your plot engaging. If we like your initial submission, we will request you send us the entire novel.

While Crossed Genres will consider any submissions, We’re unlikely to be interested in concepts which seek to build on currently popular themes. If you’ve described your novel as “[Bestselling Novel #1] meets [Bestselling Novel #2]“, it’s probably not what we’re looking for.

Compensation:

Crossed Genres will pay $10 per month for the length of the serial’s run – just like our short story compensation. When the serial is published in its entirety, the author will receive royalties based on sales.

Rights:

Crossed Genres takes exclusive worldwide electronic rights for two years, and first worldwide print rights for two years.
