Saying what I’m doing…
Feb 12th, 2010 | By Bart Leib | Category: CG BlogBlog posts have been thin recently largely because of a bit of burn-out on our parts; getting issue 15 and Crossed Genres Year One ready for release on the same day, plus all the long-term stuff we’ve been working on, wore us out.
However, we’ve been keeping up! In fact, we’re a little ahead: the print edition of Issue 16 (Steampunk) is submitted to the printer already! I’ve also made a ton of progress on the various other versions; we’re probably a good 10 days ahead of where we usually are. Awesome!
Speaking of “other versions”: anyone out there have an e-reader (or a smartphone they read on) that would like to test out Crossed Genres? I’m working on getting CG into some new formats: Currently I have test versions of issue 15 in .EPUB, .LIT, .LRF, .MOBI and .PDB formats. If you have a device that reads one of these and would be willing to test it out, please email me. Hey, free copy of the current issue!
We’re accepting submissions for our Antihero issue! Submissions have been pretty strong thus far: at least, we’re about 60% of the way to January’s total and it’s only the 12th. Keep ’em coming! I can’t wait to see the completed cover of this one: the black-and-whites we’ve seen have been… impressive and disturbing.
We’re going to be at Boskone this weekend! If you’re going to be there and want to meet up, drop us a line! We’re meeting a few friends there too, including Mike Kabongo, an agent and all-around great guy. We’re also planning visits to Vericon and possibly PAX East, both in March.
A new chapter of A Festival of Skeletons will be out in the Subscribers Area on Sunday! If you’re not subscribed – do so now!
We have much in the works, as always, and we’ll be rolling out something new at the beginning of March. Because we just can’t stop thinking of awesome new projects to deliver to you!
Post title comes from a line in the recent film version of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs
I’ve been waiting for the next installment of Festival of Skeletons — Oh boy!
I don’t have an e-reader yet but I am seriously considering a SONY. That other one has turned me off because of their arrogant attitude. What can you do to help me? I have, after all, come to this point, because of Crossed Genres. I would like to curl up in bed with my e-reader every night and enjoy your fabulous selections.
One thing has stopped me; Format. If I buy an expensive device and then find out that what I want to read is difficult or impossible to input to it and or cumbersome to manipulate in the process of its reading I will be a very disappointed customer.
So, before I spend my hard earned funds, gained in excellent and intelligent work for persons who, though they are owners of a business, are basically arrogant stupid pricks, I feel the need for some kind of advice for what would be an extremely important financial decision.
